Africans @ 3 Palms Reply to this Post

No really, my brother has 7 boys and 1 girl. They range in age from 3 to I think 17. They have been doing missionary work in Mozambique for the last 15 or so years. Most of their kids were born in Mozambique or South Africa. About every 3 years they come back for a visit. They live in a village, and have a few pit bikes, and a couple of large bikes too. They ride around on their property in the village, and do some riding on the area too. There are some roads over their, but most of it is dirt roads or paths.

I loaded up 4 of his boys (5, 8, 10, 15 I think), and took them to 3 Palms this past Saturday. They were so excited that they were going to ride an actual track. We arrived at the gate, and I'm figuring I'll just lay out a wad of cash, and cut them loose on the pit bike track. Well, I forgot about the beaurocracy you have to wade through to get to ride, specifically when they are not your kids lol. I was a red tape, logistical nightmare to get them signed up, but after a little communication between necessary parties, it was a go. Oh, and this is not a grrrr against 3 Palms. As a business, they must do as neceassry to protect themselves against the Citizenary.

To be continued:
Since I have written the above paragraphs, they have gone back to Mozambeque. The oldest boy was old enough to decide where he wanted to live, and he wanted to stay here in the states.

Well I've since lost my thought process about what I was going to write, but I let them ride around in the parking area next to the pitbike track. After a few minutes of seeing what I already knew, that they could ride and understood the controls on my particular pitbikes, I gave them the track etiquette talk, and cut them loose. Although it was their first time on a track, they picked it up quickly. They had legs next to forks, elbows up, looking over the bars, and leaning on the jump faces. It was all I could do to keep the bikes oiled, fueled, low speed circuits adjusted, and chains lubed and reinstalled when necessary. They had so much fun, and can't wait to get back and ride again.

Normally, they come back about every 3 years for a visit, but my brother said they my be back for good sooner than expected. Although Mozambique is a fairly safe country, if you have a little bribe money and stay out of trouble. But ISIS is reportedly invading the country, and they are not being kind to the non Islamic. So I reckon he is going to stay alert daily and make a decision as per necessary.
