Monty,

Funny you should ask that! I just found out that I?ll be released Saturday morning.

I was just about to post it,but your mental voodoo beat me to it.

Now I?ll be able to sleep in my own bed & eat some good food.

I still have a long way to go, 60 more days before I can put weight on my ankle.

I?ll have to do physical therapy at home for a while.

You had multiple injures, not just a tweaked/broken item.

It will certainly take time, but you're ahead of most.

Getting back home in your own environment will help with the healing process.

Guy?s

About ready to get released from this hell they call a rehab hospital!

Mind you that the physical therapy people are great, it?s just a small portion of the staff just don?t care anymore. It makes things difficult at times. There are some really good people here too!

Waiting for the warden.... I mean the Wife to spring me form here.

Re: Howard Lobel down yesterday at Rio Update! Reply to this Post

Well gang,

Just a quick update, I went to my neurosurgeon yesterday, as I couldn't ever get in touch with the one from the Hospital that told me that I had rebroken my back.

I took the CAT scan from my accident & my neurosurgeon said that I could ditch the back brace because it didn?t look broken to him, as the Hospital was miss interpreting the old fractures or they were playing it safe.

Also saw the hand surgeon & I had all the restrictions removed, hand is still very weak.

I have an appointment with the surgeon about my ankle in 2 weeks & should be able to start putting weight on it, I might also be able to start driving again!

I would imagine Howard it's a slow process.

You took a vicious hit in several places.

As you eluded to, sometimes the Docs are a little cautious.

Re: Howard Lobel down yesterday at Rio Update! Reply to this Post

Another update.

Good news/Bad news.

Good news:
I can now start walking with my air cast boot & I can put weight on my Left foot

I Now ride my bicycle with my ankle brace & high top tennis shoes.

Also released to drive the car.

Bad news:

No driving my truck,as it's a stick shift for another 30 day's. Doctor said that there is a tiny spot in my ankle that needs to fill in a little more. He said that might be pushing it & let?s not take that chance.

I have a appointment with the hand surgeon on the 26th.

Thanks for all the support!
