In AMA Yes and yes and non AMA yes and yes....

Supermini is 12-16.

In youth classes the age is determined by the age of the rider on January 1st. So if a rider turns 17 on January 2nd or later in the calendar year, they can race as a 16 year old all year.

This is also the case for most non AMA races. Most non AMA races follow these rules also.

The beginner class is not recognized by the AMA. Locally most of the races offer a 85/150 12-16 Beginner class that would allow a rider to race a 100 in. The same age requirements would apply as do in the Supermini class.
