Re: national forest Reply to this Post

for immidieate release
surprise surprise surprise ..........Forest Service Moves to Restrict Public Use of the Multiply Use trails in the SAM HOUSToN NAT FOREST
For several years the Sam Houston Trails Coalition has been working to keep the Hiking ,bikeing ,equistrian and motorizied trails open to the public
but now after almost 40 yrs of use new restrictions have been placed on them
Our coliation has spent thousands of man hours and FS equipment time to get the 85 mile loop in what was the best shape it has been in a lot of years
but the massive rains from hurricane Harvey set us back a bit . actually most of our work held up very well... just the Forest Service wants better conditions before reopening
the trails, there equipment is old and worn out we keep repairing it and they keep promising us new equipment.
the state even gives them money from the tex dot budget but to many restrictions on that ,,,as a volunteer group we can only do so much ,we has spent many hours training and achieving goal after goal, We have not had any injuries or accidents and have almost singles handed taken over the stewardship of the trails.
So why caint this be easier....why caint the Forest embrace us and get us what we need to do there job for them,,,,
dont wait till its to late help us ask questions and get answers

while your sitting at home waiting for the sun to come out drop the forest service guys a e mail and ask questions about why you caint ride in the forest
