Hey Monty......Here's the information to get you there.
Next weekend is our grand finale for AHRMA motocross racing in the South Central Region. December 2-3 is the Texas Vintage Grand Prix in Donie, TX at the Huffman Farm.
Jay Huffman and a host of vintage riders from our area have been working diligently preparing a very fun, safe, and challenging course that tips the hat to Grand Prix style tracks of the late 70's and early 80's. If you all have participated at the last two national races from Trampas and Sherri Parker this course will be similar in design and features rolling hills of central Texas. Ski style jumps, berms, off-camber, and use of the elevation changes.
I hope many of you can come out to support our efforts to provide some additional racing for the region and close out the year with some of the best people I know! It should be a fun time and a laid back atmosphere. The event cost is certainly within all of our pocket books and Jay has agreed to offer up Premier Class race entries for FREE! We would really like to see some of the Premier racers come out and showcase the roots of American Motocross.
For those of you not camping at the track there are several hotels in Buffalo, TX at exit 178 (Hampton Inn, Quality Inn, America's Best Inn and another one or two nearby). For the VFW crowd, yes there is a VFW near by and it sounds like Friday night we'll invade the local hall.
Instructions to the Track? DO NOT GOOGLE Map it. Per Jay Huffman here are the easiest directions: "Get your self to the community of Donie and follow these directions: From Donie go West on Hwy 164 apx. 1 mile and turn left at county road 751, go apx 1 mile on 751 and turn rt at black entry gate/cattle guard, follow this road to track. I will have signs posted at 164&751 and at 751&my road" 1020 Freestone County Road 751, Donie, TX 75838 (MapQuest usually gets Albert here okay.)
Thanks to MX Gurl Designs, Huffman Vintage Restorations, Greg Conn Insurance, RT Plumbing, Tom Shackelford, Bluebonnet Motocross Park, the Evil Tuckness Brothers, and our premier sponsor BA Motorsports for 2017 sponsorship. Awards to be presented at Diamond Don's 2018! Come finish out the year with all your vintage motocross friends.
