Houston Motocross Reply to this Post

Hey everyone, this is Steve Johnson from Montana. I had been in Houston from 2003 to 2014, riding every weekend mostly at 3 Palms, but also Splendora, Highlands,& Rio Bravo. Both my sons rode also Chris & James. We always rode in the EVO races as well. Always fun. Well I retired and moved back to Montana in 2014. Now I was called back to work in Houston and would like to ride again. I had sold my 08 Honda 450 in Montana. No problem getting another bike, but I have my car with me and also nowhere to store a bike. I sent an e-mail to 3 Palms asking if they have a place to store a bike, but I doubt it.
Anyone have any ideas for me? Thank you

Re: Houston Motocross Reply to this Post

Well in the last week I did some research on single rail motorcycle trailers. Found one on Northern tool website for $760. Ordered it and also rented a storage unit. Yeh my car wouldn't handle a bumper rack but will pull that small trailer. It only weighs 285 and with a 450 around 245 only brings total to 530 lbs. And the trailer folds up for storage to only 53". So looks like I will be riding again by Thanksgiving weekend.

Re: Houston Motocross Reply to this Post

Storage unit? If I may, I would suggest insuring your motorcycle. Its rather inexpensive when considering the alternative if it ever ends up missing. Unfortunately in Houston, that problem is all to common.

I've had my last 3 dirtbikes covered, and premium for the year ran between $145-$260. Theft is covered. If you are seeking a carrier that will take on competition off-road dirtbikes, I suggest contacting Justin Martin.
