Street Bike Battery Question Reply to this Post

I have a 99 Zuk DR200. It needed a battery, so I went down to Autozone and purchased a standard lead acid type. It was ok, as long as I rode it constantly, but I don't ride it often enough, and now the battery wont even take a charge anymore. I'd probably ride it more often if the battery would stay alive.

I'm a prime candidate for a maintainer, but that a side, do they make a better battery than the standard lead acid battery?

Get a gel battery or a lithium.

Lithium would be best.

Its also best to attach a maintainer to keep battery up if not ridden often

Yes, a maintainer is needed regardless, but just wanted a better battery.

Thanks.

I ve got a lithium ion in a street legal CRF450X that's been down for a while and it does go down after between times I get to troubleshoot it. God part is it only take about 5 minutes on a charger to bring it back and it's usually good for another month.

I'm will go with the lithium battery.

But will likely still use a maintainer.
