Re: Cowboy Badlands Reply to this Post

It has been d.o.a. for some time now. An attempt to purchase it twice by an individual, fell apart, as the parties could not agree on the numbers.

Normally that part of S.E. Texas is nasty gumbo clay, and is only good for rice fields and craw-fish farms. Somehow the property was blessed with some really good dirt.

Occasionally there is rumors of someone toying with the idea of buying it, but it doesn't materialize.

The underbrush growth is really gaining ground. You can barely make out the obstacles.

Re: Cowboy Badlands Reply to this Post

The back track was the sandiest track I've personally ever ridden and despite me wadding up and breaking a collar bone once there in 2012, I really enjoyed that track.

Monty, do you remember when I asked you to ride my YZ125 there? Man you got on that thing and proceeded to put on a sand riding clinic. I was inspired watching you wring it out and you made it look effortless to keep your momentum up and clear the obstacles on the little bike. That was a cool day there.

Yes, I loved that sandy back track, and as you said, get on top and stay moving.

I really like the finish line and the corner after that.

I remember that bike, it was squealing like a sissy pig. hypnotized

Yeah I miss that track, both the front and the back track. They flowed so good. Just never new what happened, it was a ok location you get some Houston riders, some Beaumont riders, maybe a few Louisiana riders. Is the asking price for the property that high, or no one in that area to maintain it?

Re: Cowboy Badlands Reply to this Post

I'm not sure if the price was too high relevant to it's appraisal, or did the individual not want to pay the asking price. Also, not sure if the house and property were part of the sale.

Not sure how conglomerate/corporation/partnership thingy works, but maybe the entity that owns it may have been better off righting it off on taxes, versus not getting what they asked for it.
