Tire opinions Reply to this Post

About to pull the trigger on some new tires for my rmz250. Im curious to know what some of you guys are running. I ride all the tracks in the Houston area, I was looking at the Dunlop MX3S. Just started riding again not long ago so I don't know what's out there and there's so many choices.

Mx3s is a great choice. That's what I run on everything.

Re: Tire opinions Reply to this Post

I would imagine some tires do perform better than others. A tire that I personally like, is the MX11 AMA legal paddle tire. For me, it has been the best forward biting tire. It won't spin, and will put you on the back fender. Although considered a soft, loamy, sand tire, it hooks up well on harder tracks as too; but it wont last to long if that's all you ride.

Keep in mind that I have only used it on my 2- Sx's, but will install it on my 17 350 when it wears out. It only comes in a 110, but Clement, Dave Martin and others have used it on their big blocks will excellent results.

Re: Tire opinions Reply to this Post

thanks for the input walkingwounded, on the parts stores it says me back tire "stock" is a 100/90, but I read on some reviews (mx3s review) that I should run a 110/80 cause it has a bigger foot print. Is there a noticeable difference between the two?

Re: Tire opinions Reply to this Post

I have only run the 110, so don't know the difference.

Everyone running the 110 on there 450's had no traction problems, so I would imagine the 100 would be fine.
