That beyond sucks. I had a 5' tall tool box with 17 years worth of tools stolen from the shop. If I had caught them, well let's just say I would be the one doing time....

Re: From Craig's list Reply to this Post

folks this has been happening way too often.
Don't assume anything and lock your stuff up. The cost is minimal compared to the loss of the vehicles. The more devices the better.....chains, cables, locks, etc.

To make it more difficult, de-commission the carrying/towing vehicle itself. Go as far as to interconnect cable through the steering wheel and the door armrest. It only takes some time but you'll be glad you did if something were to happen.

Make it a chore for these clowns and they may move on to easier "prey".

Thieves SUCK!
Online you can get portable/battery operated motion senor alarms with camera for very cheap. These can be easily hidden and the noise alone is hopefully a deterrent.

Re: From Craig's list Reply to this Post

Good points guys. Our shop had steel roll up doors with pad locks and an alarm, however the thieves drove the small forklift from the next shop through the door and drove through the door. Like the saying goes if the want it they are going to get it. Personally Me as far as transport of my bike. I never leave my truck, don't stop to eat, 9 times out of ten when you stop to eat, they will grab your bikes. I have a cable lock through my frame and still never turn my back on it

Soooo.....
If it's almost a sure bet they will try to steal your bike if you stop to eat (Cane's, for example) why aren't the cops doing a stake out??

Or maybe they are too busy worrying which (insert description here) will try to shoot them.

Re: From Craig's list Reply to this Post

Folks I know this is blatant advertising, but let me put a GPS tracker on your trailer for a few bucks a month. Usually 12 bucks or less. We can do it for as little as $6.99 if it doesn't move much.

We track lots of assets now, from big-rigs to tractors to fleet vehicles, and there's no easier way to get your stuff back than to have a hidden GPS tracker.

I can't believe anyone would not put a tracker on these trailers now that they're getting so inexpensive. The ones we sell have motion sensors in them, so the thief doesn't even have time to pull them off - IF they find them. We also have solar models that require no external power.

If you don't get one from us (TraksUS) - then please buy one from somebody! Dealing with insurance companies is a lot more of a hassle than having the cops get your stuff back Right Now. Before it's trashed.

Our phone and web apps are free, have free alerts if something moves or gets "jiggled", etc. You'll have a text message within 90 seconds of someone moving/ bumping your trailer and then you can monitor it on a map in real time. Busted!

Cheers.

Mike:

Sorry for the delay, I rarely get to use the internet for fun anymore and I'm not really the marketing guy. I'm mostly the software geek.

Call me anytime at the company number: 866-933-3219, or PM me here. We give special deals to our HMX friends.

Our system does a lot more than Lo-Jack, btw. We have reports and mileage, location alerts, zones, dispatching - a ton of stuff.

PS: JS7 is coming back this weekend! LOL
