Mountain Bike Racing Reply to this Post

I am going to do my first race this weekend. I took up mountain biking since healing from my crash last August. I have been traing and working hard to get ready. I am in Birmingham Alabama working and the mtb thing is big. Good luck to all back home who are mxing this weekend. I will be doing a big race in two weeks, the Bump and Grind at Oak Mountain State park.

I miss riding and being at the trac, but with a job change and the head injury I am taking a year off and will be back next year with a bike just to enjoy riding with friends, see ya'll soon.biggrin monkey peace

GL, but you will be back... I tired as hard as I could and it just will never take the place of a dirt scooter... Nice cross training, but zero on the excitment scale....

Re: Mountain Bike Racing Reply to this Post

WOW, what a race. I started off good. I made my way up to second and held it until the last lap. For my first race I had a great pace. I made a mental error and the front washed out ( forgot to unlock the fork). I was still on the podieum but did not finish well and got fourth. Mike you are correct I will be back, but going 26 mph on a down hill dodging trees is quite the rush. I really enjoy the biking. I have dropped 25 lbs and gained a new respect for my body. The beginner course was a 4 mile loop with two tough climbs and crazy fast downhills. We did 3 laps and I did it in 1:04:35. First place was 1:00:21. My next one is two weeks, great big one like an national ametaur MX final. Ya'll be safe and I will be seeing ya'll soon.biggrinmonkey peace
