Honda of Houston prepares for the 13th annual assault on the MTA World Vet Championship

For 2012 Honda of Houston is again thinking 'outside the box' in its preparations for attending the annual vet race at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California. Last years race was a huge success and now for the third time in history non-Honda motorcycles will be allowed into the luxurious Honda of Houston Racing transporter. So once again Honda of Houston and Honda of Houston Racing are giving the vet motocross racing community a unique opportunity to race this world class event in 'Rock Star' fashion regardless of what brand motorcycle you ride. So saddle up ladies and gentlemen, its time to take on California and the World!

THE DETAILS

DATES: Race dates are Nov. 3-4, 2012. Each day is scored separately.

Thurs. Nov. 1st is a Glen Helen open practice day from 8 to about 2 pm. You just never know who might pass you that day. HHR will have limited support on this day.

Friday Nov. 2nd is a vet only practice from 8-12pm. Glen Helen will also have practice both Sat. and Sun. mornings before each days events kick off.

Motorcycles will need to be at HoH by Sat. Oct. 27th no later than 4:00PM.

The HHR rig will arrive in San Bernardino on Wed Oct. 31st. Thursday Nov.1st is reserved for truck washing and awning setup. The HHR staff will be ready for limited practice support on Thurs. The track layout you ride on Thurs. will not be in the Vet race configuration. The truck will return to HoH Wed. Nov.7th. Bikes and gear can be picked at the dealership beginning Thurs. Nov. 8th.

Deadline to secure your bike a stand in the HHR semi will be Oct. 8th, 2012 for Honda of Houston customers. All other guest spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis and will be determined by the number of spots available after HoH customers have reserved their places. The trip is limited to 20 motorcycles and reservations for non-Honda of Houston customers or non-Honda riders are not guaranteed until the nominal fee is paid.

FEES: There will be no fees charged to any rider bringing and racing a Honda motorcycle that was purchased from Honda of Houston by that rider. All other guests will be charged $400.00 regardless of the brand of motorcycle they are racing. These fees are used for whiskey, women, and song, or diesel, whichever helps us get there.

PERKS: Your fee will entitle your bike and 1 gear bag a guaranteed spot in the luxurious Honda of Houston Racing 18-wheeler for transportation to and from Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA and Honda of Houston. Each rider will have prime pit row parking while pitting under the spacious HHR awning. Entertainment details are still developing. A catered lunch will be provided Friday after practice as we prep bikes for Sat.'s event and prepare our bodies with the usual adult beverages......This is 'Race Fuel' for your body kind of thinking. Or not!

Also planned is a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the historic Tom White Motocross Museum on Friday afternoon. More details will be available upon sign up.

All riders will be entitled to complimentary super unleaded fuel for their motorcycles and access to tools and necessary chemicals, i.e.; chain lube, coolant, contact cleaner, grease, etc. Honda riders will be provided clean air filters throughout the weekend in exchange for dirty ones. Honda riders will also have an extensive (not so extensive any more) parts inventory at their disposal if they need to purchase parts. Race stands for motorcycles will also be provided for use while at the event.

NON-INCLUDED PERKS: Credit Card bingo Go kart racing Bench racing of EPIC proportions

LIMITATIONS: We have space for 20 racing motorcycles and rider gear bags

HOTELS and AIRPORTS: Flying into the Ontario airport in San Bernardino is the most convenient airport to the track. Ontario is serviced by both Continental Airlines and Southwest. The Honda of Houston Racing headquarters hotel is the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott located in San Bernardino. The phone number is 909-382-4560. Days Inn in San Bernardino located just a few miles from Glen Helen Raceway is an additional hotel. The Days Inn phone number is 909-880-8425

Good luck Vann Martin who will make his pro debut at the National this weekend at Freestone.
Apr 24, 2012   "Freestone for Life"
April 24, 2012 (Wortham, Texas) - While the Supercross season is about to finish off, the men and women of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship are about to make the one and only appearance in Texas for the 6th Annual Freestone Pro National, Memorial weekend on Saturday, May 26th.

The "Freestone For Life" campaign is officially kicking off from now until Monday, May 21st. What is the "Freestone For Life" campaign you ask? Good question.

Freestone Raceway is offering up two FREE tickets to the AMA Freestone Pro National ..... FOR LIFE. That is right; one lucky winner will be chosen to receive a pair of FREE general admission tickets to the Freestone Pro National for LIFE!!!

The rules are simple, just log onto the Freestone MX Facebook Page and leave the comment stating "I'm A Freestone Lifer" and you will be eligible to win. Simple enough. The 2012 winner will then join Dylan Bennett from the class of 2011 Freestone Lifer's.

The 2012 Pro schedule has injected new excitement by giving more racing for the top 40 gate picks in each division. In addition to timed and non-timed practice, riders will be competing for one of the 40 gates in the 250 and 450 Consolation race prior to opening ceremonies. If that was not enough, the first moto of the Women's Motocross (WMX) will also take place prior to opening ceremonies. The entire Memorial weekend is packed at Freestone as there will be four great days of racing.

The Memorial Moto Mayhem weekend kicks off with the Texas Night Series Shootout. Amateur riders from across the state will compete under the incredible lighting of Freestone County Raceway. Gate passes are only available during the day of the event. Passes are $10 for Friday nights Shootout. Note that if you have Saturday's General Admission ticket, you can still come and camp without having to purchase the Shootout pass.

After Round 2 of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship hits Freestone Raceway, the amateur will then have the opportunity to ride the same track starting on Sunday and Monday. The AMA Amateur Day, AMA Pro/Am and AMA Womens Motocross Cup will all take place on May 27th and 28th.

For tickets and information for the entire Memorial weekend at Freestone, go to FreestoneMX. Just click here Buy Tickets Now to have your passes in your hand.
